7 Days - Northern Special

7 Days - Aberdare, Samburu, Nakuru, Masai Mara

Day 1: Nairobi – Mt. Kenya
In the morning, have a short safari briefing with your expert safari guide/driver, then start for Aberdare National Park . Lunch will be at the Aberdare Country Club or similar. Later, transfer to the Ark lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mt. Kenya - Samburu
Proceed further north to Samburu game reserve to arrive in time for lunch. Have afternoon game drive, spotting for the beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and the leopard. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu serena Lodge or similar.

Day 3 : Samburu
Full day game drive in the reserve, with dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena lodge or similar.

Day 4: Samburu - Nakuru
Depart Samburu for Thompson's falls on the Ewaso Narok River . It falls 72 m, the mist feeding the dense forest below. You can check out the falls from above. Have lunch enroute and head for Lake Nakuru National Park , for an afternoon game drive. Watch the shifting masses of pink, of the millions of flamingos that dot the lake, as well as other numerous species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Lodge or similar.

Day 5: Nakuru - Mara
Depart after breakfast and drive to Masai Mara, lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge or similar.

Day 6: Mara
Full day game drive in the park. The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is widely considered to be Africa 's greatest wildlife reserve. The prime interest for most visitors to this area, obviously, is to see wildlife. The sheer volume and variety of the Mara will certainly not disappoint. All meals at Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 7: Mara - Nairobi
Depart and drive through the park to Nairobi arrive in the afternoon. Visit the Indian restaurant of haveli's for a farewell dinner before your departure.

7 Days Northern Special - Samburu, Mt. Kenya , Nakuru, Masai Mara

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu
Start your safari with the drive north to Samburu Game reserve, the land of drought resistant animals and, for lunch and afternoon game drive with dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar

Day 2: Samburu
Full day game drives in this vast Samburu game reserve. The Samburu area is a savannah plain with small rugged hills in Kenya 's northern province . It's speciality is a host of rare game – reticulated giraffe, grevy's zebra, long necked gerenuk and beisa oryx, & hundreds of bird species (e.g. Somali Ostrich). Elephants, lions and crocodiles are also at home in samburu. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar

Day 3: Samburu – Mt. Kenya
Early morning game drive. After breakfast, depart for Aberdare National Park to arrive for lunch at base hotel. Later proceed to Treetops lodge or the Ark for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mt. Kenya - Nakuru
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park , the ornithological paradise, for lunch and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or similar.

Day 5: Nakuru - Mara
Depart after breakfast for Masai Mara game reserve to arrive in afternoon for game drive and lunch. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Lodge or similar.

Day 6: Mara
Full day game drive. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Lodge or similar.

Day 7: Mara - Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive through the park and drive to Nairobi , arriving in the late afternoon.
